From the author: The editorial in this issue is my personal take—rooted in data and current events, but ultimately my perspective. No offense intended, just food for thought. Take it, challenge it, or disagree—but most importantly, think for yourself.

For years, we’ve been told sustainability is a moral choice. That it’s about doing the right thing for future generations. But what if it’s not a choice at all? What if sustainability is just good business—the only real way forward?

The EU is backtracking on its sustainability reporting rules. Some say it’s a win for businesses drowning in bureaucracy. Others see it as a step backward. But here’s the thing: Do businesses need boundaries to survive?

Just look at a few numbers (you'll find more info in the editorial): Gen Z is on track to become the biggest spending force by 2029. Nearly 73% of them prioritize ESG in their investment decisions.

And investors? They’re already shifting toward models that bake sustainability into the foundation of finance—just look at the rise of Shariah-compliant investments (we've talked to Dilshod Jumaniyazov to learn more about this rise).

So if sustainability is just a trend, why is all the money flowing in its direction?

And more importantly—will businesses and institutions keep up, or will they get left behind?
