Coinbase Partners With American Express to Launch Bitcoin-Backed Credit Card
Coinbase has teamed up with American Express to introduce a new credit card that offers up to 4% back in bitcoin on everyday purchases. Available exclusively to Coinbase One members in the U.S., the card is issued by First Electronic Bank and delivered in partnership with fintech firm Cardless.
The metal card comes engraved with a line from bitcoin’s historic genesis block and is now open for waitlist registration. In addition to bitcoin rewards, cardholders can access a range of perks through the American Express Network, including tailored offers, purchase protections, and premium experiences.
Coinbase is also rolling out a more accessible version of its Coinbase One subscription at $4.99 per month or $49.99 annually. Subscribers to this basic tier gain access to bitcoin rewards, zero trading fees, and enhanced staking benefits—further expanding the company's push to blend crypto-native features with traditional finance offerings.
